Beautiful Low Mileage 1969 Corvair Convertible for Sale
Posted by: whubbell ()
Date: October 22, 2010 02:06AM

Serial Number 700734

30,782 Miles

On behalf of the widow of the late Jim Weber, the Tidewater Club is trying to find a buyer for Jim's car. It is Fathom green with a Frost green interior. Interior is intact with no rips, rubs, or tears. Carpet appears to be new with no wear showing. Body has no rust and body work is flawless. Paint is beautifully shiny. Bright trim is Concours quality except for very minor pitting on mirrors.

Car was judged a Senior at the Lexington convention. Drives well and could be safely driven anywhere in the country. Records are available showing over $3,000 spent in upgrades in recent years

Smitty, John Gilliland, and I went over to Jim's house this afternoon and inventoried the car and took photos. The description above was written as a result. Links to photos and a PDF are below.

Please look over the photos, etc. and think about whether you might have an interest in purchasing this car. Smitty will be the contact person, but I ask that you hold off contacting him until he has had a chance to speak again with Beverly, Jim's widow, to firm up the asking price. Smitty will let you know when he is ready to receive inquiries

A high-Res PDF [15.5MB], suitable for printing, can be found and downloaded at this link: PDF for Jim's Car

I also made a photo album on-line at Webshots. Here is a link to the slideshow of photos: Slide show

Green Chevy's were VERY popular in 69, I've owned 2, a Nova & a Malibu.
Very nice Monza, the next owner will be very fortunate thumbs up

I love that car...I actually like that green interior. Saw it at a few VA Vair Fairs...sorry about the circumstances of the sale. All our cars will be on the market some day.

Drive em while you can.

Mrs Weber says she is now ready to part with the car and will accept offers. Bill Hubbell or I will answer questions or pass offers on to her. Thanks Smitty

This is a very nice car. It is not a perfect car, and it has aged a bit since the Lexington convention. Still, it remains a very nice low mileage 1969 convertible. It would probably still score at least in the upper 80s in CORSA Concours. The car was last shown at this year's 2010 Virginia Vair Fair where it was once again a People's Choice winner. I do not remember whether this car was the Best of Show winner this year or not, but I know that it has been on prior occasions, and that it beat out my 1964 Sedan for that honor, so that should tell you something about the quality of this car.

At this point in time, we prefer not to give a value publically. I do know what Beverly is asking for the car. If you (anybody) is seriously interested, please post or call me privately and we can discuss it.
