A/C Compressor Brackets

Can anyone post some pictures of a stock 64-69 compressor mounted on an engine. I can not figure out where this bracket goes. It is what Corvair Underground has listed as the Air Conditioning Support Bracket (runs from compressor mount to motor mount).
I have all the hardware out of a 66 and I am putting it on my '63 with 64' engine and engine mounts.

If you have any of the service manuals (62-69) look in the A/C section. There are photos of the A/C compressor brackets there. Keep in mind that 140 is differnt that "110" and that there is a late 140 and and early 140 design.

There are also pix in the assembly manual for each year from 62-69.

Thanks for the reply. I have all the manuals, but sometimes a picture goes a long way in understanding something's assembly.

The part you're talking about is the upper strap that goes from the top of the a/c compressor to the idler pulley bracket, I believe- I think the one they have reproduced is for the 1962-'66 cars with 2 carb engines only, the ones where the compressor mount is laying flat on the head just behind the RH carb, not the 140 style high mount bracket. The strap is adjusted after the belts on tight to stabilize the top of the compressor so it doesnt quiver and vibrate when its running, which happens a little without the strap. This part is not mandatory but is nice to have it does make the whole mount a lot more solid and the compressor operation less obtrusive. One end is bolted under the fan belt idler pulley attaching nuts and one goes to the flange of the compressor behind the clutch.

Hope that helps,
Brent

I got it. Misinterpretation on my part. The compressor is now mounted.
Thanks for the explanation.

If you need the GM compressor brackets for a 140 hi-rise, then they are hard to find

PM Azdave as he has a few A/C cars.

If you are using a Sanden then Clark's has a new 140 hi-rise bracket.

Whoa ghosts of an old thread! My old username even. I always seen to let go of the air conditioned cars. Regret selling that one.
