If your vair has A/C with the condensor against the firewall could you please post some pics of your engine compartment? Thanks in advance

I rarely if ever use my air

#1: Well frankly its not working that awesome right now
#2: Even though I practically live in the burrows of hell I like my "windows down" when rolling in the car... plus most times I have people hollering questions at me

#3 It makes me a bit nervous to use it when it is so hot out becasue of bogging things down.. I could be WAY off on this but its in my head

Thumbs up for "wagbear". I've used that search engine here....and spend a heck of a lot of wasted time.

Okay fresh air hoses: One of you has one... running from underneath your condensor

Dave: you do not: unless I am not seeing it... Also I've never seen (yeah with my VAST experience ) The coil mounted there! I thought I had issues with mine mounted in front of the compressor on the rear of the car!


So what's the story on this? Air hose or no air hose with rear mounted? Curious

I believe the factory "turkey baster" had the air hose mounted on the driver's side, while all others, except turbo, had it on the passenger side.

The air hose running to the passengers side on A/C cars is correct per the 1966 assembly manual. Only the turbos run to the drivers side. Check the assembly manual and you'll see.

Every factory a/c'd 66 and 67 I have, and have ever had, had the fresh air hose on the drivers side. This includes my survior 66 Monza convert that has been in the family since 1970. Turbo and A/C cars have it on the drivers side.

Perhaps these will clarify. The AC on this car is a genuine factory installation as evidenced by the torched cutouts.

See my vair is a 65.. some PO must have placed the reconfigured the condensor against the rear firewall or mine was a very late model 65?

Either way the fresh air is on the drivers side on mine but its capped off and barely visible from under the condensor... I just wonder how you would even get it behind there without crunching it? As you can see no fresh air hose

The hose goes from round at the turkey roaster to oval where it goes under the condenser, so it is supposed to be "crunched". See Clark's catalog:

I worried about this when I restored my car but in the end, I followed the assembly manual, which clearly shows the hose runnin to the passenger side. I am not disputing Texas Yenko or Dave in any way, but here is the assembly manual page from my book. I am confused!!

Factory installed 140 A/C in a 500. Has the hose on the passenger side.
