() Date: May 14, 2010 07:28AM i've gotten SO MUCH MORE information and advice here than i have from the corvair society...i am questioning why i continue to support them. anyone else? Re: CORSA vs. corvair forum... Posted by:

() Date: May 14, 2010 08:12AM Just like CORSA, CCF is all-volunteer. There is no "Them", "Them" is us. Let me point out that CCF is supported by SDCC, a CORSA chapter and their club dues pay the freight. While it's pretty easy to contribute here on CCF, the current structure of CORSA makes contributing a little more difficult. Much of the energy that could be flowing that was is flowing this way. The issue is compounded by a "what do I get" mentality in an all-volunteer group. Let's hope that Curtis' project helps with CORSA's current problem of delivery and ease of contribution. Craig N. () Date: May 14, 2010 08:14AM a repost by me from the SAME TOPIC just 3 weeks ago; THIS IS MY OPINION ONLY!!! This Website / Forum IS CORSA!!!! Let me explain; CORSA is a VOLUNTEER Organization! VOLUNTEER!!!! The San Diego Corvar Club is a CHAPTER of CORSA....They have Royce Hildreth / Hildreth Media handle the WEB for them. CORSA has a FACEBOOK presence... As far as the CC goes... We can thank Dick Kanishiro for starting it. We can thank the SDCC for buying it, and putting someone as talented as Royce in charge! WE ALL know it works! Look at all the other Corvair Web Forums there are! 75??? NOT ONE OF THEM has 5% of the activity we have here... Many have Great layouts and easy to find info.... BUT they do not have the LIVE interaction! PRICELESS ---------------------------------------------------------- SO.... I say that CORSA is providing a good value for $45 per year... After all... we have to PAY NOTHING to use this great resource! MY OPINION ONLY MODERATOR Sea Mountain, between Charleston Harbor and Coos Bay! () Date: May 14, 2010 08:26AM I agree. Support CORSA and it's chapters. If it wasn't for the folks of the West Michigan Corvair Club, my son would have taken his GF to prom in a minivan. Attachments: ![]() Re: CORSA vs. corvair forum... Posted by:

() Date: May 14, 2010 12:02PM I cannot believe this topic is coming up again. Is anyone else really tired of trying to convince people that CORSA is worthwhile as if people have to decide whether to eat this year or pay $45 to stay in? I support CORSA because my local chapter is a very important part of my Corvair hobby. Without CORSA my currently very active club would not be able to do much because there is NO WAY we'd be able to afford insurance for our local events and still only charge $15/year for dues! And without insurance who do you think would get raked over by the lawyers if something unfortunate happened to a club member or non-member who attends your events? ANYBODY THEY CAN NAME - but most likely the chapter officers. I don't get much technical Corvair information directly from CORSA (other than the Communique) like I get here, but there is MORE to CORSA than that. It provides the infrastructure that allows our local clubs to be what they are! -Travis ![]() '65 Corsa; '63 Convertible; '62 Wagon; '65 4 Door Heart of America Corvair Owners Assocation (Kansas City, MO) Re: CORSA vs. corvair forum... () Date: May 14, 2010 08:06PM I thought my minivan love/ownership was well known around here. I know Matt has gotten some mileage out of it. I used to be a hater until I got one and then I went to the dark side. Now, my minivan is a first generation Honda Odyssey that's really more of a tall, boxy Accord than a big, heavy modern minivan. It weighs around 3000 lbs, the new ones are over 4000 lbs. Mine even has 4 swinging doors, no sliders. I'm a big boy and it has lots of elbow and head room and hauls my soccer gear without having to move seats around. Nowhere near as much style and charm as the Vair convertible, but it is oh so reliable. So I love it!! It's my "precious" (think Lord of the Rings). Yes, that prom picture is WAY more cool with a Vair than with a minivan. Sorry, only registered users may post in this forum. |
