Back to topic - I didn't think the camaro glass actually fit? () Date: May 07, 2010 07:04PM Camaro Glass is very close. Will still need adjustments. I just spoke to someone about this Possibly acrlyic with hard coating. I have not had time to work on this, but still something on my list of things to do. Just off the cuff... woul either need to cut the glass at the bottom to fit in the Vair bracket or maybe transfer Camaro windo reg and tracks into the Vair Door. I'm sure its not a simple as that, as the vair door has the ven window frame holding the front edge of the slider, like a 67 Camaro. the 68-69 would have a differnt front track..... () Date: May 08, 2010 06:47AM My 65 project car didn't come with vent windows. I really like the clean look. Sounds like it may be out of my skill level. If somebody does it please keep us updated. Re: 68/69 Camaro door glass? Posted by:

() Date: May 08, 2010 02:51PM You can order custom door glass. Not sure what cost would be for a pair, though. Maybe a good case for a group buy. Hey, Richard1, are there any shops down there that would make these for a good price? <table align='center' width='0'> <tr> <td><img src='[www.automation-scs.com]; alt='1962 Corvair 900 sedan' width='190' /></td> <td><img src='[corvaircenter.com]; alt='1967 Corvair Monza 140/4-speed' width='190' /></td> <td><img src='[corvaircenter.com]; alt='1968 Corvair 500 coupe' width='190' /></td> <td><img src='[www.automation-scs.com]; alt='1983 Mexican Mustang 5.0' width='190' /></td> <td><a href='[www.automation-scs.com&]; target='_blank'> ![]() </tr> <tr> <td align='center'><font size='1'>1962 900 sedan needs a home</font></td> <td align='center'><font size='1'>1967 Monza 140/4-spd</font></td> <td align='center'><font size='1'>1968 500 coupe (now my son's)</font></td> <td align='center'><font size='1'>1983 Mexican Mustang 5.0</font></td> </tr> </table> Re: 68/69 Camaro door glass? () Date: May 08, 2010 07:08PM Ok here is the deal on the orange car, it is owned by a gentleman named Rick who lives in Cedar City, UT. This guy is quite possibly the nicest guy on the planet, he has spent his whole life doing upholstery on other peoples expensive hot rods, has an eye for detail and style, and now finally has started working on something for him. This beautiful orange car when examined in person is literally flawless. He explained everything that he did to make the Camaro windows work, this is not a bolt in job. He says that he has hundreds of hours grinding and fitting the glass, changing the rear quarter windows geometry, and then building filler strips to make up the angle difference. Everything is hand made and fit with a jewelers craftmanship. One of my buddies speculated that this would be between a $4000 or $5000 conversion if you paid someone to do the work. Rick is still working on his upholstery right now and it will be world class just like the outside of his car.He installed bucket seats in the rear with a center console that starts at the dash and ends in the rear package area. His door panels are incredible with molded in speaker pods and arm rests and power everything. I am trying to get him to join the CCF but he seems to be more interested in driving and finishing his car. ![]() Back on topic this glass conversion is difficult to explain in person and impossible for me to explain on the forum. Your best bet would be to meet this craftsman a show. Junky Hurricane Utah. () Date: May 08, 2010 07:41PM How in the heck can you cut tempered glass?? It has built in stresses and will fracture when cut or trimmed. This is one of those "don't ask me how I know" deals. Bob G. Re: 68/69 Camaro door glass? Posted by:

() Date: May 08, 2010 08:04PM Two years ago he had the car at the Fan Belt Toss and that one was in Costa Mesa. Maybe he'll show up in Palm Springs at this years GWFBT. It was parked to the left of the Rampside you guys saw in Sacramento last weekend. My poor old digital Canon served me well for many years, but chose to die that day. Other pictures of it did not turn out. Attachments: Re: 68/69 Camaro door glass? Posted by:

He spent literally hundreds of hours "grinding/buffing" on it to take the excess off. The fact that he didn't break one in the process just helps you see the care and patience he possesses. Someone like me would just end up eliminating the glass altogether. ![]() Junky Hurricane Utah.
