Hey. SSpeed66. Lookin good!
I think your car would look better with a Wink mirror and no side-view mirrors.
You already shaved the door handles and those donor mirrors look too big to me.
Also agree on steel for the roll bar.

Well, stainless sheet stock is at least 2 times harder to work than mild steel.
But sorry to naysayers(lol), as I already have the aluminum tubing...grinning smiley

I todays day with 572's etc., my little 402 kinda pales in comparison, gggg. At a car show this year, I watched a guy park his "not real pretty" 65 Vette roadster. It had a 396/425 that sounded SO sweethot smiley, it gave me a shiver down my spine. It brought back very fond memories(of cruising with my uncle in his 70 Nova/375hp/4 speed, which he still ownsthumbs up). So, I think I'm going to use that cam, It has a 590 lift solid in it now, but doesen't sound ANYTHING like the 375/425 horse cam

My new centre vent bezel... I'm not too pleased with, as it is blemishedsad smiley. I will probably send it off with the other interior plastic parts to be rechromed, $74.99 US is what I am into this part for, so far. POS plastic anyway

I'll find a nice one of these on ebay-

A bit more work done- I buffed out the inside of the roof panel, 20 minute job

Then I marked out & cut out the rad support, ready to be bent

What I have here, is a burnt up engine cover for a Sidewinder boat. I plan on using some of its styling cues, which I'll reproduce in metal-winking smiley

Here is the start of the bottom part of the doghouse

A pair of covers I picked up for my Monte, $30grinning smiley

I also did some dash cutting-eye popping smiley

Here's another way to do the center A/C vent. The new duct on the left is fiberglass.
Airflow is much better than stock and can be directed where you want it.

Just my .02 Al, but....

I don't know if I'm a huge fan of the bullet mirrors on your car. It makes me think with the chopped roof that the proportions will be off. (think Prince Charles, or Dumbo the Elephant, get my drift?)

How about some Talbot style mirrors?

Yes, I thought of the old Talbots, and have looked at alot of them on ebay. I think they are a bit small, but almost bought them. The mirrors I'm using actually compliment the lines of the A pillar area, and I don't think they are excessively big(but I used to be a trucker, ggg). Pics don't do much, but if you see them in person, walk around the car looking at them from all angles, they really don't look like Prince Charles, lol. And I'll be able to see over the quarter panels(which was a concern with the Talbots).Real Talbots go for pretty big bucks on ebay

I'll throw another one in, although it looks like you've already done a lot of searching.

They just look a little less bulbous than the Talbots (to me).

Time for a little update !grinning smiley
Another 118 pics I've taken since last time...I have been busy building a console, ALOT of thinking/figuring/modifying. I am going to run the heater ducting along the top of the floorpan, utilizing a rear heater out of a 80's GM van. It will be mounted on the rear floorpan, just in front of the "doghouse"eye rolling smiley
Started with making a cardboard template-

$173 for a 4x8 sheet of 1/8"sad smiley, still have half of it...

Here is the start of the framework-

I got a new helmet for the shop the other day, it has a "Sensitivity" control on it-

Trying to bend it without first heating ithot smiley

I mounted the shifter to the framework from the top, as a result, I had to build a bracket on the shifter so I had 3 mounting points...

The mostly completed framework, ready to bolt in(and do more modifying)

The frame bolted in, and now finalizing the sidepanel fit to the heater ducting(which is going to be moved over to the left 1 1/2")

I still have to deal with that funky corner of the frame - tomorrow
The little girl & I spent alot of time at the shop this weekend(spouse was out of town)

I found this in my parts stash, it will go on the Monte, but I used to have the Holley version too. I've heard they are no longer available...-

A close up of the shifter mounting bolts, down in the hole-

I had to move the heater ducting 2" to the left & 2" back(to leave room for the radiator (hard)lines, Crown style. But here's how it fits inside the console panels-

A close up of one of my window cranks(yes it is on the latcheye rolling smiley). A rare Canadian Corsa part there...eye popping smiley-

I went to Pick N Pull yesterday to go heater shopping. Two Chevy vans with the rear heaters, both plastic housings recently smashed, bummer !
But I did find this one, a factory aux. rear heater from an 84 Dodge van. It is 8"x8 1/4x8 1/2"tall, already painted wrinkle black-

I broke a couple of studs taking it out, so now they are stainless steel-

A bit of floorpan mods to start, there used to be a lump there-

Heater mounted, and first piece of ducting in place-

Next piece started-

First piece ground up-

As welded-

Welding was going pretty good today-

The top lip of the first piece fits under the cap, and has 2 screws on each side-

I will make the heating duct that travels the length of the console out of fibreglasswinking smiley

smileys with beer,Al
