Looking GOOD Al!

This is certainly one unique 'Vair. So many personal custom touches. Can't wait to see the car assembled. Great progress!!!

I want to ask about exhaust headers/ why is right side collector angled? Is it because of adapter plate or engine mount. Also its been a long while since your last post, what's up?

I have been wondering about him as well. He was talking about moving from the Okanagan over to the Kootenays. Maybe he has been tied up with that.

Al, on your much earlier question about sanding glass; I worked for a company that fabed small leaded glass parts. We used a Harbor Freight belt sander. We attached a tube across the top with numerous small holes that dripped water evenly onto the belt. The rate was controlled with a needle valve. The sander was set in a tray with a drain tube and a drip/spray shield was put over the motor.

This worked really well. But, I dont know how it would work with safety glass and I don't remember what grit belt we used.

Good luck,

Barry

I spoke to Al today and he is fine, just too busy with his job and side jobs to do anything with the vair. He hopes to get back to it later this spring and will no doubt update us then.

Hi , I am just starting a mid engine Crown conversion for about a month now. I came across Al's detailed build and it was the best education that I didn't have to pay for. But I never seen the finished product, and truthfully I was concerned for him.but reading the prior posts I see he is fine and that's the most important thing. But Al, I'll be waiting for any nut or bolt you continue doing. You have motivated me to the point where I might look past something and I think you would never skip it. Thanks for car guys like you that also document. Us Wannabes cling to work like yours.
