() Date: November 01, 2011 07:27PM Well, it has been a while since an update, as I took the entire summer off. Spent it with boats, beaches, & bikinis ![]() I'll start with a little work fixing the door gap- ![]() Next time the door comes off, it will be filed to the edge of the tape- ![]() I put the wheels from my Monte on the Vair to see how they would look- ![]() The rims fit well, but the tires are definitely too big, 235-60/14 & 255-60/15- ![]() ![]() ![]() Next up was to fix the LF fender from sticking out a 1/4" too far. After zipcutting a relief along the belt line & drilled out all the spot welds in the door jamb I tacked on a piece of angle to keep it straight- ![]() ![]() After it was sufficiently tacked I cut the angle off & welded it up- ![]() ![]() I also did slight a gap correction at the top of the B pillar- ![]() I've run out of time today, but I'll post more tonight ![]() Al Macaulay - Okanagan Valley, BC Western Canada Corsa Link to my Corsa build- [corvaircenter.com] Link to my Cobra boat Project- [www.sidewinder-boats.com] 66 Corsa 140 HT - 402BBC/Turbo 425, 66 CDN Corsa 'Vert 140, 79 Cobra 16SS/Merc 1500, 69 Triumph Trident Chopper, 67 BSA Lightning Custom Cobra Custom Metal Design/ God Bless Canada ![]() Re: ANGLE CHOPPED 66 CORSA BBC TORO RESTO Posted by:

() Date: November 01, 2011 11:10PM Al you are a madman! Excellent work! IMHO those wheels really fit the look of that car. I like 'em. I always like to see your updates. I need to get some of my own. No beaches or bikini's for me this summer. Maybe next year!Re: ANGLE CHOPPED 66 CORSA BBC TORO RESTO Posted by:

() Date: November 02, 2011 12:27AM Nicely done corrections/restoration on the sheet metal Al! It is good to see you working on the car again. I'd forgotten how wicked that thing looks with the chopped top and the rest of your tricky mods! It is truly one of a kind! () Date: November 02, 2011 04:37AM A few years back at the GWFBT&SM in palm springs, there was a guy there from, i think nevada, who had used the 68 camaro glass, in fact, he had used the entire inside door panel with regulator( power windows). there was a rubber tapered piece above the glass to make the angles work. Don't remember hs name, but he was an upholstery guy.Good luck! () Date: November 03, 2011 05:18PM The one issue I have with 68 Camaro mechanism is the Camaro inside door panel goes all the way up to the window, they do not have exposed metal above & in front of the panel like a Corvair has. This might be a slight problem, but I'll deal with it when the time comes... G body mechanisms might also be an alternative Al Macaulay - Okanagan Valley, BC Western Canada Corsa Link to my Corsa build- [corvaircenter.com] Link to my Cobra boat Project- [www.sidewinder-boats.com] 66 Corsa 140 HT - 402BBC/Turbo 425, 66 CDN Corsa 'Vert 140, 79 Cobra 16SS/Merc 1500, 69 Triumph Trident Chopper, 67 BSA Lightning Custom Cobra Custom Metal Design/ God Bless Canada ![]() Re: ANGLE CHOPPED 66 CORSA BBC TORO RESTO Posted by:

() Date: November 07, 2011 08:04PM Just a small caution for you- that wheelwell undercoating is apparently asbestos based, might see if you can get it off without making dust of it- soften it with diesel and a scraper maybe? Brent Re: ANGLE CHOPPED 66 CORSA BBC TORO RESTO Posted by:

() Date: December 19, 2011 08:34AM A little update here, but I have to get it done before 1:05 am, as that is when this site freezes up(for me, not sure why)... 20 years ago my uncle welded in the lower fender, but the door gap was way off.
