I'm almost afraid to ask, but...

What is an A&P mechanic?

My ignorance conjures up images of a grocery store.

I??? A thief? Ahem....well, I guess you found me out.

What's it worth? I'd like to think it's worth the original asking price and that I, being the astute trader that (I think) I am, just got a good deal. But I know tha ALL cars are worth what they sell for--at the time. So I'd have to say, the girl had other offers but mine was the one she took. Why? Dunno. Maybe she liked my wrinkles and gray hair.

There was another yellow Monza 4-door on CL recently, in WA. A '65. Really EXCEPTIONALly GOOD condition. The girl was asking $2000. I got her down to, believe it or not, $800. Then I offered her $700. She got so irate she said she wouldn't take less than the original $2000. I even had one of my friends contact her, trying to get something off the $2000. Nope. I'm sure she still has it. And as of now, will not take less than $2000--for a car I COULD have gotten for $800, if I'd been smart. Which I THOT I was--but wasn't.

So as stated, I guess my car is worth $1000. Of course, I had to drive out to get it, then drive it home. That meant I had travel and motel expenses. And I did some minor work on it once it was home. So it probably cost $1500 total. Would I take that for it?

Nope.

They are there. Just gotta keep looking, especially on Jaxed CL. [www2.jaxed.com]
Soooo many on there.

AND don't be afraid to bargain. Of course, don't be a greedy sucker like I am, either, and try to beat 'em down to blood!

Good luck.

The guy I mentioned, who starts the Ebay auction at $2999 but won't take less than $3100, NOW has the car on CL at $3900 and is crying because people set appointments then stand him up. And he starts every word with a capital letter.

Hey, as I said, that's what America's all about! FREEDOM!!

Is anyone else confused?

This car met ebay reserve at $1200, but now you're saying you've rejected 4 cash-in-hand offers of $1700-2200?

Looks like you have established that it is worth at least that to you.
