Has anyone ever seen a corvair Police car, Ambulance, Rescue Vehicle, Taxi cab, or any related type of service?
If you have do you have any pictures or info you can share with me?

I could do a screen cap of the Corvairs the Science Patrol used in the TV show "Ultraman" if that would help.

How did Corvairs get to Japan anyway??

Back in the early 80's one of our club members bought a Bell Telephone Corvan service vehicle used in the city of Trenton,NJ. It was low mileage and good condition with work shelves installed. Don't know what happened to it....NICKG

About 3 months ago I found a van that I was told was used by a local fire department as an ambulance. When I went to the fire department that had used it I talked to the chief and he told me he went on a call in it the very first day he started there. He showed me pictures of it and told me that it was used as a crash rescue unit not as an ambulance. I struck a deal with the owner of it but he sent it to the Corvair graveyard before I could get a chance to pick it up.
( I had to find a place to keep it because I already have 6 Corvairs )

I think theres a law enforcement classic car show this weekend in Oviedo, Florida. They will all be collectible or modified new police cars. I think at the Oviedo Marketplace mall.

I've posted elsewhere on here about 2 Corvair FCs my grand father had that were service vehicles for an appliance store both were bought new at the same time and both had doors or ramps on both sides and the rear 1 van and 1 ramp side. You could load right through the center of both!My grandfather made a"hippy camper"out of the van and used it to hunt and fish from, The rampy was so rotted that if both side ramps opened at once it would drop to the ground in the center!I don't know what year they were but gramps got both vairs from the store owner when they were retired from service gramps and one of my uncles got me liking Vairs at a young age

It depends on whether you "attach" a picture, or embed it using an image link. With attachments you're limited in size and quantity (3). By embedding it, you're pretty much unlimited on both counts.

LOVE the Amblewagon! I've never seen the belly stripe done like that before. Is the Amblewagon (I presume that's what it says) on the rear quarter painted on, or an actual script emblem.

HARVEY'S RESORT HOTEL CASINO IN STATELINE NEVADA OPERATED A FLEET OF GREENBRIARS AS COURTESY SHUTTLES. THERE ARE PICS OF THESE AND MANY OTHER CORVAIRS IN THE BOOK: HOW TO KILL A GOLDEN STATE" BY WILLIAM BRONSON. YOU CAN GET A COPY ON AMAZON FOR ABOUT $6. WHEN I FIND MY CAMERA I'LL POST A PIC.

There's a man in I think Wichita that uses FC's for his catering service.

"So where do they put the engines in these things?"
"They put em where they belong....in the rear."

My '68 coupe was painted a hideous slimy green under the white top coat like it was a service car for a utility company. No one would have painted their personal car that color. It's about the same color as zinc oxide primer. Ugh.
