The wiki page call out for the final total production # for the Corvair @ just over 1.8 million...seeing that Corvair motors are used for so many thing..mostly beacuse of $...how many can there really be out there still around...just wondering...

The community for corvairs is def awesome...the surviver rate has to be under 50%...holy crap 15 ohhhh my Dreams gggggg

I've got 3 and 2 that were sold to individuals that do not follow the forum (With another 1 sold to someone who does does don't count it twice). One of the individuals, outside of the forum, that purchased 1 of mine already had 3.

There are at least 30 running in the HACOA club (that I can quickly count...and this doesn't include those in the club who follow the forum). In addition to that there are 15 parts cars with maybe 5 that could again some day run out in Bonner Springs (local attempt at a ranch) and I've seen at least 5 on a visit to Springfield (owned by an individual that doesn't follow the forum).

I think, as illustrated above, it would be really hard to determine how many are still out there (running or not). There is a Corvair Registry at [www.firststatecorvairclub.com] which all of mine are listed on but I bet that there are many who might not know the registry exists. There are currently 1,427 in the said registry.

I would venture a guess that the survival rate is less than 1%.

I've personally scrapped about 50% of the corvairs I've owned.

If you want to count all my Vairs. Then there was the 61 I scraped out, the 62 Convert I donated to the SDCC, the 63 Turbo rust bucket I sold, And the 61 Greenbreier I donated the SDCC. That means I have had 6 Vars so far. I aint stopping yet. Looking for a LM, well thinking about one at least.

From total production you could subtract the one I'm told is around here somewhere, last seen being suspended in the air by a tree that grew up through the middle. I'm still looking for it out of curiosity.

I think maybe all of them . They may be dressed up as your air conditioner , kitchen stove , canoe or your new pick-up. I have had over 300 , 11 at this time 6 restored on the road + 1 Crown V8 everyone needs a hobby
