() Date: March 22, 2009 01:06AM Hello i have a question on spark plug gap on my 140 pg covair with HEI distributor small cap! Do i need too increase the gap too make my electronic HEI distributor work more efficient like 50000 or leave it at factory corvair setting ! () Date: March 22, 2009 04:09AM I second the .45 gap but with a hot coil you should be fine with .50 I have experimented with the mostly stock small block chevy in my dirt track car all the way up to .77 before I saw high rpm breakup but found no real gains past .52 where I thought it felt maxed out. I ran a "Dyna Mod" hot module with a stock coil reliably for years. The only failures I ever had were with Acell coils, 2 in 3 yrs with .45-.47 gap.
