Members in Western Pa?
Posted by: Horndoc ()

Are there any Corsa Members / non-members in Western Pa? Specifically, Pittsburgh, Greensburg, Latrobe area? I see there's a Corsa chapter in Plum (near Pburgh) I'm just wondering how the Vair scene is in the area. I'm considering moving back there, I left Latrobe 10 years ago. Latrobe is about halfway between Pittsburgh and Johnstown.

John,
Please post the club name and contact information. What cities are meetings held in? Is there a web site?

What is your vendor info?

Thanks.

Hi Paul. I'm in the WPCC as is John Sweet from above.(great guy by the way; He sells parts and does repairs)
We just had a meeting Tuesday night and our holiday party is Jan. 4th. Membership dues are $12.00 anually and we have a nice newsletter.(you can get paper or electronic version.
The club basically includes members from outlying areas of Pittsburgh. Latrobe would be a pretty good drive for you, but what the heck !!! Anything and anywhere for Corvairs, right ?!
Send your email address to me and I'll forward you a copy of the latest newsletter. vze4z5cb at verizon dot net

Hey, thanks guys! I lived in Latrobe from 92-99, worked for Volkweins Music. Came back home to Rochester in '99. Been in business for myself since'03. Tired of being broke, I've been in the job market. Thought I might be able to get my old gig back in Latrobe, or in the main store in P-burgh. Didn't pan out. I may have an interview in Winston-Salem NC, I'm waiting to hear back. This one looks promising. I'd be making good $....to buy more Vairssmiling smiley I see Winston-Salem has a Corsa Chapter. Do they drive their cars all winter there? Seems they get a little snow, but salt? Nothing like here in the rustbelt. Actually today the weathers clear and roads are clean from the rain. Might even drive the 500 to Mom's for dinner.

haha yeah..

do you work in music or is there something else you do to pay the bills?

I wish I could work in music...hopefully if I can do a music degree and get into it that way... I'd like to get a band going, but it's hard to find people. I have a drummer possibly...looking for a bass player. it would be cool to find other instruments too.

you're a trumpeter right?

could be jazzy...

Thanks Terry! I definitely will. One of my criteria when choosing to relocate is if there is an active CORSA chapter nearby. I have some feelers out but nothing real definite yet. Thanks for the offer, I'll check out your website.

you;re lucky to be able to do something that you enjoy (do you) for a living. I wish that some day I can do that. I'm certainly not happy at my current profession (working on Hondas)
