Corvair Center Name various vair bodied or vair powered vehicles... Posted by:

() Date: June 20, 2005 02:15AM OK here is a fun little quiz that I thought I might throw out for the group. Name as many production, factory one off's, proto-type's, and or small special runs of various Corvair powered or Corvair bodied vehicles that you can think of. Name them by name but don't generalize groups like "dune buggy" or "racecar", actually name the make or specific model that you can think of. Just to thorow out a carrot on a string, I came up with just short of 40 specific vehicles...lets see how many I missed that the group can think up.... Don't name any factory models like Corsa, Spyder, rampside, lakewood, remember these are factory Corvair based or Corvair Powered. () Date: June 20, 2005 10:47AM Not too far off the subject, but does anyone recall the either Popular Mechanic (or was it Mechanix Illustrated?) issue from late 1966 (IIRC) with the article with pics of someone who took the engine/transaxle assy from an EM and built an articulated frame for it for an off-road vehicle????? The "vehicle" pivoted in the center. Looked like it could handle boulders with little effort. Re: Name various vair bodied or vair powered vehicles... Posted by:

() Date: June 20, 2005 11:12AM I don't know if they had a name, but many parade floats of the 60s and 70s were powered by the Corvair " Unipack". There are still some Vair powered airboats running around up here in Alaska, and I think the Vair powered airplane has a name but I CRS ! Also Vair powered trikes.
