68 Headlight Switch Wiring - Need Help Please.eye popping smiley

Brand new wiring harnesses as follows:
C12076 - 68 Dash Harness PG w/AC
C8388 - Exact Trunk Wiring 68 & 69

After examining the 68 Assembly manual wiring schematic, it appears that the "purple" wire that powers the parking lights is missing.

All the connections that should have a purple wire are empty on BOTH new harnesses. See The photos of the firewall connectors...

Therefore, there must be a logical reason for this.

Can someone explain this?

NOTE: disregard the loose black wire inside the photo of the headlight switch and harness connection.

I believe the low beam headlamp harness powers the park lights on 68 and 69.

Makes sense, as by then the parking lights would be on with headlamps, wait.... how could they ONLY be on with the low beams and off with the high beams? That's wrong.

Ah Ha! The "headlamp" wire from the headlamp switch powers the parking lights, before it goes to the dimmer switch to become low or high beam. Nope, that would be the light blue wire, which is a single wire on the switch connector. Oops, wrong too.

Now, here it is, the two Brown wires on the switch, one goes to the rear tail lamps, the other goes to the front parking lights. smileys with beer

I took an ohmmeter and verified that the two brown wires do, indeed, feed the front and rear parking lights.

Thanks vairy much, Frank!

Now I can get some sleep tonight...eye rolling smiley
