Hi to All! smiling bouncing smiley

I'm a new Corvair owner, sort of. My father lives in CA and is getting long in the tooth. I live in CO. When I last visited him he said he wanted to sign the title to his Corvair over to me. This way when the dreaded day comes of his passing I wont have to fight other family for it.

He drove a car just like this one as a young man and built this one just as a driver. I know he went though the engine and he says its now putting out around 180HP. 4-carb system, It used to have A/C but he removed it except for the venting that is under the dash. Its got a lot of the Spyder markings including the dash and glove-box but he says its really not a Spyder. He gets it out of the garage 3 or 4 times a year when he is feeling well enough and goes for a drive around town so its not driven much at all.

It has only a couple small things not working right like the temp gauge and the paint could use some work. Its still a points and coil ignition system but he says it works just like it should.

Ive driven it a few times over the years. I'm going to visit him again in the end of June so I will get it out and drive it around as much as possible. It will someday come home with me on a trailer I guess. But I'm in no hurry for this as you can imagine.

So thank you for having me in the group. I will be watching in the background mostly but I'm here. A big shout out to Steve at Rear Engine Specialists in Denver and Matt the Moderator for helping me become a member. I had tried 4 or 5 time over the last few months and could never get the site to except me. Had to go in the back door to get here. LOL.

I was going to post pictures of the car here but I don't have an URL to link them with. I'm a dinosaur when it comes to computers and just keep pics on my computer. Oh well. I guess you will just have to believe me. LOL. If anyone want to help me with pictures I'm willing to try.

Connection to the site was reset while loading... This is what I get when I try to attach a picture.

Anyways, Thanks for the welcome. Maybe I can figure out another way for pics later.

Thanks for posting the pics for me Phil. Really! Thank you. smileys with beer

My Dad says its just his driver. You should have seen the 59 Impala Convertibles he used to restore when he was 20 years younger. They were perfect. He did one a year and sold them over seas.
