Sad morning for the TurboTurd

"Had" a big show today. Sitting in a long line of cars to get parked and some lady decides she Needs to leave...

Thankfully she had insurance. I will fix it, just disappointing to add another project to my already massive to-do list, and bummer it was on my very best car

Thankfully it stayed out of the rear corner, away from the wheel opening and I can wrestle the engine lid open and closed. Also great to see the two repair panels I welded into the damaged area faired perfect. I want to get going on it now, it will be really hard on me to have to wait for estimates to come back while having to sit here and look at it.

I had exactly that happen to me a few years ago but they hit me just behind the door. I didn't have full coverage and their insurance company refused to pay for it. Said the fault was 50/50. I don't see how it can be your fault when you are sitting still in a parking lot line.

Standard insurance company operating procedure.

Your insurance company was not going to spend money on your behalf based on your coverage.

So, are you going to hire a lawyer to go after the insurance company?

I guess you could complain to a "consumer affairs" org (in Texas?).

Imagine what hurricane / fire victums get presented with.

Friends of friends spent a few years on such "fun" after the Oakland Hills fire - before "winning". Most people will not persevere that long...

The car being struck was most unfortunate. Hopefully the insurance company will come through. If not there is always Billy Mays and "The Ding king." smiling smiley

I should have hired a lawyer but it wasn't worth the hassle to me. Texas has a state board of insurance that is supposed to handle such things but they are completely worthless.

That is a shame! Especially on such a valuable, unique, rare, and nice (Canadian?) car.
Reminds me of leaving the Rolling Stones concert in Nashville Tennessee on our way
to the Knoxville convention driving my 1967 Monza Sport Sedan. A large truck didn't
see us and pulled right into the left front of us. I have Haggerty Insurance who did
us right.
