After receiving that help from the forum on the layout of the cylinder-head-temperature-sensor wiring, I decided to remove the heater motor from the inlet duct and blower assembly to clean it up and give it a test run--it ran great, by the way. I vacuumed out most of the typical mouse-house material stuffed up in the fan box and the blower assembly, but I decided to remove the entire inlet duct and blower assembly. According to the assembly instructions on page 164-19 there is a screw attached horizontally to the filler panel assembly, and a nut attached vertically to the same--I could clearly see them and they were easily accessible.

I removed the screw with no problem, but snapped the stud off because the nut was rusted to it. (I didn't think to use "Blaster" on it.) Now, according the diagram in the assembly instructions and Clark's catalog, the blower assembly on the '64 car is attached with that one screw and that one stud/nut combo (Clark's noted the FC uses two stud/nut combos.) Am I correct in thinking that I've removed the only two attachment points of the inlet duct and blower assembly? AND, that the reason I can't move it is because the attachment point at the broken stud is rusted to filler panel assembly? I'm thinking I just need to put a flat-head screw driver there and tap it a few time to break it free for removal so I can do a thorough mouse-house-cleaning job in that area? If that's successful, my next problem is how to reattach the blower assembly back onto the filler assembly considering I've got a broken stud at the attachment point.

Purchased by me in April of 1964.

It's been years since I have owned an EM, but I believe there is something more holding the blower box in.
I never pulled the blower box on my EM, but I did try to pull that filler panel from the inside once.
That was not possible with the blower box still attached.
So, I am THINKING, that there is something more, or the panel would have lifted up, if it was just a screw and a nut holding it in.
Even if it wouldn't fit through the hole, it should have at least been free to wiggle around, I would have thought.
By tomorrow, someone will chime in with a proper and correct answer for you.
