() Date: May 10, 2023 09:52PM Dorman lugs, in longer lengths are available from SummitRacing, if you need them. Most newer wheels need 60 degree lug face. () Date: May 19, 2023 07:21AM It sounds like you're just buying lug nuts but if you need studs the knurl size is a factor. I've got a few Dormans I use where the knurl is a touch bigger and they pull through hard but that's better than loose. Turning the lug nut and having the stud turn with it is a horrible sinking feeling. I've had a few Corvairs with aluminum wheels show up here with stock studs and like 6 turns of thread retention. Gives me the heebie jeebies as they just may fail at the worst possible time. Stock lug nuts on wheels made for 1/2" studs are just as bad as they can pull through the wheel. Proper hardware can add quite a bit to a good deal on wheels. I hate uni-lugs. Jim Brandberg Isanti, MN CorvairRepair.com ![]() Edited 1 time(s). Last edit at 05/19/2023 07:24AM by JimBrandberg. Jim- are you referring to the .475 knurl ones for the Corvette? Do you know of any available that are longer than the 1-3/4 ones from Dorman? I've got some alloy wheels on order and it seems like the Vette ones will barely be long enough but I can't find anything longer that won't require boring out my hubs. () Date: May 20, 2023 06:41AM I have Dorman studs out in the garage and computer in the house upstairs after I take my shoes off. I'll try to remember to look into what I have. Way back I looked in the Dorman catalog which lists all the pertinent information. Jim Brandberg Isanti, MN CorvairRepair.com ![]() Sorry, only registered users may post in this forum. |
