() Date: May 02, 2023 12:14PM So, I have had a few email exchanges with Paul Sergeant who is the Central Division Director/Treasurer for CORSA. The good news is that CORSA has agreed to manage the donations for the corvaircenter forum. As a result, as soon as I get the deposit from GoFundMe, I will transfer that money to CORSA. They will handle paying for the CCF expenses by drawing from these funds. We just need to submit an invoice for the expenses required to support the forum. So far, GoFundMe has charged us $100 to raise over $3 grand. I still have a few donations coming in via checks - they haven't arrived yet. So, the next question is: Do we want to keep the GoFundMe account active in case anyone else wants to donate or do we shut it down ? Inquiring minds want to know. () Date: May 03, 2023 07:15AM Open. If we have recurring charges from Go Fund Me then we can look at closing it down. For all the benefit this forum provides, I’d like to encourage more donors to help out to secure its future. Re: CorvairCenter GoFundMe update ![]() Posted by:

() Date: May 03, 2023 08:43AM I think it can stay open. As I mentioned previously, now that CORSA owns this site, I think it should be on them to support CCF financially in the future. I think the funds we just raised to "jump start" the forum migration are wonderful, but the ongoing, reoccurring, normal business activity costs should be passed onto CORSA, IF CORSA is going to tout the benefits of "their" forum. If they can't/won't, I guess that would be a topic for another day. I would also hope that any funds donated by individuals on this site stay very specifically segregated for use towards this forum only, and do not wonder into the CORSA or CPF general funds. _________________________________________ Ryan Counterman (Moderator) 1965 Corsa Kelmark V8 ///1965 Monza Sedan 110/PG /// Ultimate Corvair Hauler/// Don Eichstaedt's 1965 Corsa Racecar West Michigan Corvair Club /// 1966 Corsa GTP Convertible Mid Engine 3.8L Supercharged ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() Re: CorvairCenter GoFundMe update ![]() Posted by:

() Date: May 03, 2023 11:19AM As CORSA treasurer, I assure you that we will keep the funds separate and continue to financially support the Corvair Center Forum as necessary. In our board meeting last evening(5/2/2023), I sought and received approval that these and future donated funds will indeed stay separate and earmarked for CCF. The donations here are awesome and will keep this forum going for a very long time. CORSA purchased this because there is so much good technical and historical information here that it should be available in perpetuity for CORSA members and Corvair lovers everywhere. Of course we also feel like it can be a membership tool for recruiting new members to CORSA. I am a longtime member of this forum and spend way more time than I should reading posts here. This forum is by far the best source of accurate Corvair technical information/advice anywhere. As long as I'm around I will stand up for the autonomy and self-directed nature of this group. Therein lies its strength. Obviously changes are necessitated by antiquated software platform. I am a proponent of keeping the experience here as similar to today as possible. Thank you all for your support and continued participation in the CCF. Enjoy the Corvair! My donation was/is intended to support the Corvair Center Website and should NOT to be co-mingled into any common fund. () Date: May 05, 2023 05:43AM I want to THANK everyone who donated to the GoFundMe account in support of our corvaircenter.com forum. I have the GoFundMe funds and I'll mail a deposit for $2930.11 to CORSA later today. As Paul mentioned above, this money will be used exclusively to support the forum and will be kept in a separate CORSA account just for CCF. Here is a copy of the deposit check: ![]() I am also waitting for a couple of members donation checks - the Post Office here (maybe everywhere) is agonizingly slow. Thanks Again !! () Date: May 07, 2023 04:38AM Will Corsa now take donations from CCF members for the CCF account? If not, can you start up an account with GIVESENDGO to collect donations also? Al Georgia Re: CorvairCenter GoFundMe update ![]() Posted by:

() Date: May 07, 2023 08:47AM Yes, you can now send a check to CORSA as a donation for the CCF forum. Send checks to: Corvair Society of America PO Box 68 Long Lake, MN 55356 You MUST add the following note on the check: "Donation for the CCF Forum" in order for your donation to be credited to the forum account. To donate using a credit card you can still use the GoFundMe website: https://gofund.me/58512918 I'm trying to keep a running total of what's in our account, so if you send a check, drop me a PM and let me know what your donation was.
