Eido, as a veteran of all the conventions (Larry Claypool and I are the only ones*) may I say welcome! Just get hold of the convention schedule and try to attend as many of the events as possible. Note which ones interest you the most and then don't miss them.

But be sure to cruise through the vending areas several times during the convention, as things change almost on a daily if not hourly basis. If you are looking for specific part(s), shop early and keep tabs on the vending area, as some vendors are not always present all through the convention. Some will not always set out all they have at once, either. And if you are looking at a rare part and want/need it, GRAB IT! You may just score the only one of its kind. Also note that SOME vendors will bargain, some won't. Just be respectful of the individual.

Above all, make friends and contacts. It's the one thing you can't do over the internet nearly as well. I wouldn't have had as many opportunities to buy and own some awesome cars and rare/desirable parts, nor know as many good people and contacts if it weren't for the conventions. Thus, as Fred Bybee once said to me, the conventions have become more like a family reunion. Over the years, I've met some of the most fantastic people and had the good fortune to make so many friends, all of whom I love dearly, all because of the conventions.

Wear yourself out, blow insane amounts of money, but above all, enjoy the events and love making new friends!

*P.S. Third member of the group, Ron F., is bowing out as of this convention, if I read him right in Georgia.

The question is....which cars to bring, which days.

I'll be there Monday - Saturday, live about 3 hours away.

Monday, oval Track, I want the Flexi-Flier (my 65 autocross car)

I want my 66 Convertible for Econo-Run, Rally

I want my 66 Autocrosser for the Autocross

I want the convertible back for the Car Display (because my 66 Autocross car is UGLY)

Only one driver from my family is coming. I dont own a tow vehicle that can pull a two-place car trailer....decisions decisions!

Flat tow the flexi flyer behind the 66 Vert? Then have your wife pull the AutoX car behind your SUV?

I have seen 3+ cars being flat towed daisy chained together in Indiana. Not sure if that is legal, but saw it being done a few times. I wouldn't do that!

Great idea....except, my wife is only coming for 1 day, and wont tow. The Flexi has no provision for tow-bar mounting (no bumper, no holes). Convertible doesnt have a hitch (and dont want one). Lots of my own road blocks in the way. The Rampside has a hitch....but isnt in the list of cars to take.

Easy solution: Take the Rampside! All convention events are fun in an FC! smiling smiley

Sooooo, what do you consider to be the correct designation for the body style of your car?

Great question!
From all the pictures he has posted about it, it would seem quite clear to even an idiot that the body style is a four-door.
Now, if he was talking about your typical neighborhood street Cruise-In, where they do not classify cars by Body Style, but break them up into "Categories" then he would maybe fit "Phantom", MAYBE.
BUT, since it is a factory body, and only loaded with "Factory" options, I don't really see it as a true Phantom. eye rolling smiley
With all that "Factory" parts, it seems that it totally conforms to the categories they already have, after all, he has already had it judged in a CORSA event, so I would think that it's category, and Body style has ALREADY been established. confused smiley
But since this is a CORSA event, one simply needs to conform to the groupings they have had for many many years.
You would think that a "Veteran of EVERY convention" and a former Concours Judge, would totally understand, and accept that platform of options.
