Hey you midwesterners and Eastcoaster. Go West young man. Come seethe Pacific Coast and a bunch of Corvairs. Bring your Corvair and show it off.

The excitement begins soon. It is this coming weekend at the beautiful Oregon Coast. Gearhart Oregon.

The Pacific Northwest Corvair Econorun was a great success. It was held on the Northern Oregon coast in Gearhart Oregon, near Seaside. The route went from Gearhart to Astoria and across the Astoria Megler bridge into Washington State. The return was down the Pacific Coast Highway (101) returning to Gearhart about noon on Saturday. It was approximately 100 miles total. The activities after the run included a Show and Shine car show. You were able to vote on your favorite Corvair. It included 19 cars from all over the Northwest and Canada. Some of the Corvair owners brought Parts for a mini swap meet. We were so lucky as there were raincluds all around but it held off during the outdoor portion of the event. Saturday evening we had a great dinner at the host hotel, McMenamin’s Gearhart Hotel. The meal was excellent. It was followed by a trrivia game on Corvairs. It was held on the lower level of the Hotel, not at the Roadside. Another game was Corvair Bingo. The last game was a Corvair Coloring contest.
There was a raffle of some cool items such as Gift certificates from Clark’s and Valvoline. Corvair Art and enhancement products for Corvairs. We held a 50/50 raffle grant raised over $300. A fun time was had by all. Ages ranged from 1 year to 96 years. Corvairs ranged from 61 to 69. It was so wonderful to talk with members from the various clubs and see what they have done to their Corvairs. It took lots of planning and coordination to make everything work out. Rumors have it the next one will be in Canada. Thanks to all who made this happen.

I would have loved to attend... I just completed a gas mileage test this week after making some changes to my EFI that I had never considered before. It made a big difference!
