() Date: March 20, 2023 02:42PM BTW you can still get the real deal studs and nuts from Workhorse parts. () Date: March 20, 2023 02:56PM I have welded nuts to studs before to get em out, that certainly works as well. I was just looking for an excuse for a cool new tool! Since trucks have got to be so dang expensive I have decided to put some $$$$ into this rig to keep it going for a while, so I am planning on machining the manifolds flat and reinstalling with all new studs. I think 3 or 4 are broken at the moment, and the exhaust fumes get sucked into the interior through the HVAC when idling so its got to get fixed. Back on topic though, it looks like there are a couple options: An Amazon type for around $200 Or the name brand Induction Innovations for around $600 _________________________________________ Ryan Counterman (Moderator) 1965 Corsa Kelmark V8 ///1965 Monza Sedan 110/PG /// Ultimate Corvair Hauler/// Don Eichstaedt's 1965 Corsa Racecar West Michigan Corvair Club /// 1966 Corsa GTP Convertible Mid Engine 3.8L Supercharged ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() Attachments: ![]() ![]() Re: Do you use an Induction Heat Gun? () Date: March 20, 2023 03:43PM Right. The $600 Venom is a known device to mechanics and body shop people. Never a bad thing said about it. It is the $200 ones new to the market all the home hobbyests wants to know if works. Frank DuVal Fredericksburg, VA Re: Do you use an Induction Heat Gun? Posted by:

() Date: March 20, 2023 05:11PM I've got a number of task to do. I thought it be a good investment and make the jobs easier with less chances of breaking stuff. Grin I also thought it be useful with my 6500ES in a pick-n-pull.. If I ever find the part I need. Unfortunately, a good number of junkyards are not like they use to be a few decades ago, when it comes to those who build off the wall stuff and need to know what year fits what. Grin (If you can't provide the YR MK and Model you want the part for they can't seem to help you find something that will fit your custom build.) Edited 2 time(s). () Date: April 10, 2023 08:07AM Tony: You’re not alone in this thought process. I was considering getting one to heat heat my connecting rods to install the wrist pins. Decided not to do it because I have NOS rods and thought how stupid I would feel if I ruined them experimenting. I really like the idea of having one and also would like to learn more about them. Didn’t get a lot of feedback when I asked in a topic either. Personally I can’t justify the expense. If the price comes down though… Craig T Central NY 1961 Tramp (truck with a ramp) Re: Do you use an Induction Heat Gun? Posted by:

() Date: April 10, 2023 08:15AM BTW - I'm leaning towards this one due to the fact it has a carrying case and extra coils. https://www.amazon.com/EMAGIH-Repairing-Flameless-Electromagnetic-Induction/dp/B08PD8ZSXZ/ref=sr_1_3?crid=1U8T49OQU7N98&keywords=JWGUTS+Magnetic+Induction+Heater+with+10+Pieces+Coils+1000W+Automotive+Flameless+Heating+Handheld+Bolt+Removal+Rusty+Screw+Removing+Tool&qid=1681132340&sprefix=jwguts+magnetic+induction+heater+with+10+pieces+coils+1000w+automotive+flameless+heating+handheld+bolt+removal+rusty+screw+removing+tool%2Caps%2C129&sr=8-3 Sorry, only registered users may post in this forum. |
