The reason I said that is because I couldn't find a MADE USA mentioned. That is now a BIG premium for many folks so why not mention it. I'm sure Clarks is following this, if its made in USA all they need to do is say so. I'll buy one either way, but that would be a bonus included in the sales price, at least for me.

Regarding the import issue,
Chine IS capable of making extremely High Quality goods, WHEN THEY WANT TO.
I think a LOT of people are going to be very shocked at how well they perform, when we eventually go to war with them.
As had been stated in the thread though.
A manufacturer needs to stay on top of them, and hold them to the manufacturing specifications set out in their contracts.
When we get Chinese JUNK, it is because,......
#1., We have settled for known poor quality in exchange for a low price.
ie: Harbor Freight
OR
#2., The importer just does not really care about their end-use consumers.

After the last fiasco with ALL Corvair fuel-pumps being virtual junk, I do not believe that Clark's would even dream of taking on a new supply of them, unless they were sure of what they are selling.

I have 2 cars that have been running original 40+ year old AC fuel pumps and the modern gasoline hasn't caused them any harm. Sometimes you just get lucky. I will keep a Clarks pump in the trunk as a spare and am confident that it will work as well as my 40 year old AC pump.
