I know clarks sells a repro but if someone has a used one laying around I can repaint then I rather just go that route. I will be at Springfest in April if anyone wants to meet up with parts!

Im currently getting the dash vent assembly refreshed. Pretty cool how simple it is. Anyone have a suggestion for the rubber seal where the fan box fits into? Its pretty dried up. Other than that the plastic vents are pretty nice one is a little boogered but I am sending them to Mark Corbin to put that fresh chrome on them.

I have been helping Cole find his parts. I found all but the "belly pan" (actually a pipe shield) at the Corvair Ranch and Jeff is taking care of getting them to him. The pipe shield is hard to find, as it is often ignored when people part out cars, or else it is so severely corroded as to be useless.

I have two of these pieces; one on the Glenn Corvair and the other is part of a complete AC set I removed from a prior AC car. As I wish to keep my set intact, I can't send it to Cole, so I did the next best thing and used it to make a template. The template can be used to cut a flat piece of .060" steel sheet and then bend where noted (angles and directions of bends are marked on the template).

The template I am sending Cole is cut from card stock, pre-bent and holes punched. However, I also made a 600 dpi scan of the template. This can be printed on an 8.5 x 11" sheet of card stock and cut out.

I obviously cannot post the high resolution scan here, but I am attaching a downside "forum-friendly" version for your review. If somebody wants that high resolution scan (about 1.5MB in size), please PM me your email address.

I looked it up - 16 gauge steel is .0598”, so that is what I’d recommend using to make this part.

I appreciate everyone’s info and help. Looks like I pretty much have everything right now. Big thank you to Mr Hubbell and the Ranch.
