FOUND!! parts to fix clutch/shifting issues

I’ve been chasing balky/hard shifting with my ‘64 4spd. Finally traced it to a failing spring on clutch fork. The clutch rod is also in need of replacement.

Checking here first, I see CA Corvairs lists the parts.

Most importantly need a clutch fork with good springs, have a spare? Also need a decent straight 60-64 clutch rod?

Send me a PM with details please and thank you. Want to buy

Ken,

Just my opinion, but you are inviting a scammer to respond.

Recently the scammers have found they can respond via PM to forum posts that are looking for parts and amazing but they know someone that has just what you are asking about!

just send a email to soandso@scamcity.net and they can fix you right up!

Send $$$$ via PayPal "friends" or some other non traceable/refundable method and we will send it right out...... Right..........you are out, that is.

Now, back to your requests.
The clutch for "leaf springs" that retain the throwout bearing flange?
They can be readjusted to do their thing pretty easily unless yours are MIA.
Now about your rod - is the problem actually the rod or a worn adjuster?

Hello Ken. I have both parts you are looking for but like Dan stated the fork springs can be adjusted. The rod has a bend in it normally.

Hi guys - Disconnected swivel end and the rod felt sloppy, too much play, didn’t feel right. Fork end had unexpected movement all directions.

The small spring that holds the fork in position on the ball stud is not doing its job and the fork slips off the ball. Also looks like ends spread out too much.

Rod takes a twist and bend at the pin end as well as out of round hole for pin.

New adjusting swivel and pin have been ordered from Clark’s
Thank you, Ken

I've had the sloppy fork spring to the ball stud without shifting problems. But, as long as you are in there.... Don't chuck the old one, though, could still be a functional part. No one makes forks, and the spring at the large end that holds the throwout bearing is very important. If that is good, keep it or offer it up. Jim was asking about some recently.

That oblong hole I have not seen. Good to replace that. Swivels worn to a thin sliver, yep! Common, and they too get replaced.
