() Date: March 02, 2023 07:07PM My last dwell-tach just died on me. What's everyone using? Or who repairs these? Need to purchase something to finish a job, any recommendations? Thanks, Dave .. . Re: need meter Posted by:

() Date: March 02, 2023 08:37PM I have an old but still great shape Craftsman analog multi-gauge for ignition systems. Similar to this: Check your local Craigslist - lot's of 'em sold by Sears back in the day. Lots of other brands of similar instruments - search for "Tach Dwell" Dan Davis ~ Pierce County, WA ~ CCF admin ~ CORSA +Corvairs NW + North Cascades Corvairs + Corvanatics 1966 Corsa Turbo coupe ~ ~ 1966 Corsa 140 Coupe ~ ~ 1965 Monza 140/4 Convertible Sierra Tan/Fawn ~ 1964 Monza Spyder Convertible ~ 1960 Monza Ermine White/Red PG ++ ~ 1965 Monza 140/4 CoupeEvening Orchid w/ ivory/black interior ~ 1962 Monza Wagon 102/4 ~ 1963 Rampside/Scamper ~ 1963 Red/Greenbrier ~ 1969 Ultra Van #468 Re: need meter Posted by:

It is probably just failed capacitors, unless it took a tumble. ![]() Swap meets are good places to find them, even electronic swap meets called hamfests. () Date: March 03, 2023 07:44AM I have a couple that need wires put on them. Don t know why I haven't tossed them yet. Maybe nostalgia reasons. I think one is a cheap KMC, Kmart! Ken Hand Handy Car Care 248 613 8586 Vairmech@aol.com Re: need meter Posted by:

() Date: March 03, 2023 01:14PM Dave let's us know if it truly a new one and it works fine. The Sears 2 meter analyser I bought off eBay 4 years ago was a new open box and it works fine. Bought a small meter last year to haul around on trips to help others in need (or my myself if needed). Al Georgia Re: need meter Posted by:

I looked at the listing but could not see any indication that the cables that are required are with it! The back will have connectors for the inputs from the battery as well as the distributor and other test cables as well.... Might want to contact the seller and verify that they are included before it gets shipped. () Date: March 04, 2023 07:50AM I don't believe there is an issue with the leads. This meter has leads permanently affixed to the unit. Al Georgia Attachments: ![]() Re: need meter Posted by:

() Date: March 04, 2023 12:19PM Ha! I looked at that photo but did not see them. I was thinking that the large hole was a finger pull to remove a cover where they might have been stored! Thanks! Hope it all works out. () Date: March 06, 2023 05:24PM Al, as promised here is my report. Package arrived here today, it was a box within a box within a box. When I opened the final box(original sears)the first thing I looked for was wires. I found them, five of them! Has an alternator shunt along with positive, negative and distributor hook up. I zeroed the meter and set for dwell. Hooked it up to a Spyder in the shop and found it was dead on the reading I got with a borrowed meter. Next step was checking if the tach worked, started the car and lo and behold the tach works fine. Looking the unit over I truly believe it really is NOS. All the little accessory pins, clips etc were still in a little sealed bag and it had sat in the box so long two of the little rubber feet remained in the box instead of on the meter. I peeled them off and restock them in place. They were still sticky but I think I will put a drop of super glue on all four of them just to make sure they stick It definitely was as advertised and I am pleased with it. THANKS AL!!! and all others that responded. Dave.. . Re: need meter Posted by:
