() Date: January 22, 2023 06:45AM Question for the gang here.. I am installing new axle seals and I am wondering how far you seat them? Do they install flush or recessed a tad? I thought they bottomed out at some point and shoved one into the trans. Oops. So I have to get new ones and don't want to make the same mistake. On that same note, which ujoint goes where? I didn't realize it when I pulled them out but one has a longer shaft than the other. 64 Spyder 04 Jag XJR 04 Cadillac SRX 05 Grand Cherokee 5.7 Good ole Minnesota Re: Axle seal install Posted by:

() Date: January 22, 2023 07:05AM Just flush on the seal. No stop. The long yoke goes on the left side. Now sitting here I'm second guessing myself. Jim Brandberg Isanti, MN CorvairRepair.com ![]() Edited 2 time(s). Last edit at 01/22/2023 07:08AM by JimBrandberg. Re: Axle seal install Posted by:

() Date: January 22, 2023 08:33AM Sweet. Thanks for that. Round two will be easier. I am sure the longer one only fits in one or the other. I assume left is.. drivers? 64 Spyder 04 Jag XJR 04 Cadillac SRX 05 Grand Cherokee 5.7 Good ole Minnesota Re: Axle seal install Posted by:

() Date: January 22, 2023 09:29AM I don't think you can put the longer yoke in the incorrect side. Flush as far as seal depth. Re: Axle seal install Posted by:

Yes. Left and right is from the driver's perspective sitting in the driver's seat. Frank DuVal Fredericksburg, VA Sorry, only registered users may post in this forum. |
