() Date: November 18, 2022 07:22PM Looking to purchase this NOS transmission blocker ring. Could it be these blocker rings were used in other Chevrolet transmissions of the same era? Re: WTB - NOS 66-69 2nd Gear Synchronizer Blocker Ring Posted by:

() Date: November 19, 2022 08:55AM I don't know of any NOS rings you might want to contact Rex Johnson on here.Clarks has repros which I find work fine. The late 4spd sync rings (all 4 gears are the same) were used in many GM Saginaw transmissions from the late 60s to early 80s in lower horsepower models such as inline 6s and small V8s even in the Vega.Hope this helps ![]() Ray Johnson Villa Park IL 63 Spyder Conv. 140 EFI Re: WTB - NOS 66-69 2nd Gear Synchronizer Blocker Ring Posted by:

() Date: November 19, 2022 09:45AM Hard to find, I used to have a giant pile of them but sold them all to the racers for big $$$$, I still have enough to built 3 transmissions for myself and wont sell any more, I guess the clarks replacements work OK but I think you need to polish them otherwise they stick. ![]() ![]() 1960 4dr sedan caveman car 1961 Rampside (Chetside) 1962 Rampside (Barnside) 1962 Short Rampside (Shortside) 1962 Monza 700 Wagon 1963 Monza 900 coup (General Nader) ----------------------------------- Rust Free Lancaster Ca Re: WTB - NOS 66-69 2nd Gear Synchronizer Blocker Ring Posted by:

() Date: November 19, 2022 12:38PM I don't know how to post a link on here but there is an online parts clearing house called partsvoice.com when you type in GM part number 3859027 it shows 3 suppliers that say they have them. check it out ![]() Ray Johnson Villa Park IL 63 Spyder Conv. 140 EFI Re: WTB - NOS 66-69 2nd Gear Synchronizer Blocker Ring Posted by:

() Date: November 19, 2022 02:40PM In a pinch you can swap 4th for 2nd to get a few years out of it. Brent Re: WTB - NOS 66-69 2nd Gear Synchronizer Blocker Ring Posted by:

() Date: November 19, 2022 03:04PM I totally agree Ken. Also as long as you have gone to the trouble to disassemble the trans the new Clarks blocker rings are only about $14 or so. just replace all 4 ![]() Ray Johnson Villa Park IL 63 Spyder Conv. 140 EFI Re: WTB - NOS 66-69 2nd Gear Synchronizer Blocker Ring Posted by:

() Date: November 19, 2022 04:19PM Respectfully disagree ?? The original GM rings are a bronze material. The new ones are closer just brass. The bronze will definitely last longer. And the Cf is per GM design. I have some excellent condition ones removed from core transmissions. That were disassembled to build Yenko and DCR race ratio transmissions. With very fine lines / edges. These are what I use in my trouble free race 1966-69 transmission builds. I test mate them to the gear cone and measure the gap compared to a new GM one I also have here . Very close. I may have some of the brass ones here if anyone want to take a chance. Came in a Clark's rebuild kit that a client supplied. Obviously they were not used. PM me about the brass ones if interested. () Date: November 19, 2022 05:12PM I have good luck with most all the repo blocker rings, I use some very fine lapping compound and lap each ring to each gear, not letting the clearance under .045 with full contact. 1964 Bill Thomas Monza Replica Racer 1964 Spyder Street Car 1998 Honda Prelude Dirt track car 1967 Crown V8 under construction Mike Levine Cumming Georgia North of Atlanta Re: WTB - NOS 66-69 2nd Gear Synchronizer Blocker Ring Posted by:
