Evidently there was a shade in 1960 called “shadow gray”…. Google images are all over the place, does anybody have a pic of a Corvair in this color? Just curious. I’ve seen some impalas with it and it’s very cool looking.

Not that it was ever a real factory color name, but my Father would have referred to that as "A Gun-Metal Gray colored car."

I took this photo at the Toyota Automobile Museum in Nagakute, Japan ca 10/2015.
This is the "off exhibit rotation" garage area. They rotate cars on and off exhibit to keep things fresh and this '60 had just come off exhibit.

The first shot is without flash, the second was taken with flash. The latter is probably more accurate because the garage was pretty dark.

I remember the color well. I repainted my 1955 Chevrolet Convertible that color along with a lighter grey. The interior was grey and the exterior was Gypsy Rose and an ivory color originally, and that is why I went with the 2 tone greys.
