Neat design, but, definitely not a Corvair.

I walked past it yesterday and took several pictures of this really nice Corvair Rampside with AC.
Carbon fiber panels that resemble a Corvair, glued onto a used Camaro with panel bond doesn't light my fire. It is well done, but it's still just a Camaro.

Maybe so.
I would not argue that point one bit.
BUUUUUT!
This car has been to many shows already, and is going to SEMA from here.
THAT, is going to garner interest in young people who will like the body styling and start looking into this thing called Corvair.
If that causes some of them to buy a REAL Corvair, and keep our favored toy alive through one more generation, is it a bad thing?

I believe that builder is the same gentleman from france who built that stunning green late model lowrider a few years back. Cool to see his newest project, but the lowrider was a lot cooler and more craftsmanship in my opinion

Yes Cody. Same folks. They had a photo of that green late model at the show too.

Mostly original...not sure what that means for a custom fabricated car. It's a beautiful car, but it is no longer a Corvair in my opinion...its a better looking Camaro.

I think what Troy meant to convey was that it was a one-off, 100% hand-made carbon fiber body.

The B-pillar being off is likely a victim of having to work with available glass from modern cars.

I loved it myself and could care less about it being a Camaro under the skin. It is very doubtful that anyone else will ever pay homage to what a modern Corvair could have been in a manner that even comes close to this example. If you are waiting for the air-cooled, rear engine version, prepare to wait an eternity.

Modern car / modern drivetrain in a carbon fiber body that somewhat resembles my favorite car? I'm in for that. Its going to draw attention to the Corvair - I'm also in for that.

I'd rather drive it than a Challenger, Mustang, or Camaro-bodied camaro...

I saw it in person and it is gorgeous...but it still is not a Corvair.

Honestly I'm not sure it even belonged in the Corvair peoples choice.

That looks like fiberglass not carbon fiber...
