WTB 66 up stabilizer rod for shifter tube
Posted by: KenHenry ()

I need the rod at the rear of the outer shifter tube that stabilizes the tube to the transmission crossmember. 66 up is shorter than 65 and is able to pivot at the crossmember end. I only need the rod but would be interested in the crossmember bracket etc. if rust free. I already have the dimpled bracket and concave washer-type thing that allows it to pivot (could be derusted). Please send me a PM if you can help me out. Thanks! Ken

The 1965 rod can easily be shortened, by cutting and installing a sleeve.
Not a high stress part, so a couple of tack welds will do it.
I have shortened several off them.

Thanks for the suggestion Bob; that sounds easily doable. I found an original one from John Sweet at a very reasonable price. Ken
