64 convertible, when I removed the starter I had marked the yellow wire on the bottom of the starter solenoid, the purple one on top, I reconnected it and nothing, not even a click out of the starter, if I switch the wires the starter turns but it is not correct, any ideas? Thank you

Just checking,

The S terminal should get the purple wire.

The R terminal would be the thinner yellow wire.

I believe S is on the bottom, so purple bottom yellow on top.

Did you reconnect the battery is my first question.

Is the 2 terminal connector on stater lead connected to the engine harness is the second question.

What is battery voltage is last question.

Yes you had them marked incorrectly. Purple on bottom to "S" terminal.
