() Date: September 15, 2022 04:20AM I am off to the Goodwood revival Friday and Saturday, I am only 2 1/2 hours from it but have never been yet. I have been to the festival of speed twice but this is my first time at the Revival. I will report on any Corviar sightings, there are a few over here so you never know! Anyone making the trip over the pond to attend? Re: Goodwood Revival Posted by:

() Date: September 15, 2022 07:11AM Maybe the former Rick Norris blue "Sunoco Special" Corvair will be there, I thought it went to GB. I wish someone would make another "John Player Special" V-8 like the one that cleaned up in Australia one year. I'd sure like to see an air cooled Tatra V-8 that runs with an exhaust diffuser instead of a fan. The sedan looks a little ungainly but the open wheel version looks good. Probably too loud for most venues these days. The Goodwood Revival looks like great fun in films and I hope you have good weather. The intro is in Czech, so you can squelch sound until the five minute mark, then you'll hear that glorious V-8. [www.roadandtrack.com] Scott Danville, In. () Date: September 16, 2022 07:19AM Yes I've seen and heard videos of the Tatra sedan with the diffusers but I'd love to see one in person. I saw a picture of an open wheeled car too. I wonder if they only made one of each or if there's more. Most Tatra V-8s have two fans on the rear of the engine in the same plane as the crankshaft pulley which is nifty as well. I brought it up because it's the sort of cool stuff that might show up at Goodwood. Jim Brandberg Isanti, MN CorvairRepair.com ![]() Re: Goodwood Revival Posted by:

() Date: September 16, 2022 06:56PM The St. Mary's Trophy is my all time favorite. Big Block Galaxies and T-Birds racing against small, 4 cylinder British cars from the 50'-60's. And they are all so competitive. In a world that screams for diversity this race sure has it with the cars they run. It is great racing, cars mildly sliding (not drifting) through corners and not darting like a go-kart either. Here is a You Tube link, select the race that interest you. () Date: September 23, 2022 07:29AM Well I didn't see any air cooled action but a great weekend! If anyone is thinking about making the trip it is about the best event I have been to in the UK. Sorry, only registered users may post in this forum. |
