Hey everyone I have been lucky enough to pick up this 66 Crown Corvair conversion that has had 7 previous owners. I was curious if any previous owners were on this forum or if anyone knows the car and has anymore info about its history (see photo of attached previous owners list).

Some info about the car.
Originally a 66 Corvair Corsa. It has a 327 Small Block added in 2001. The engine is running hot, So I will be reworking the cooling system. The syncros need to be replaced as the car won't shift from third to 4th. Needs an engine cover and other TLC like a headliner.

Planning on replacing the radiator and looking for suggestions for any aluminum that anyone has had luck with running in a Crown conversion.

Also while the transmission is out I was thinking of running a hydraulic throwout bearing to eliminate the slave cylinder and linkage. Does anyone have any experience with using a hydraulic throwout bearing?

9 times out of 10 your shifting issue was caused by a Bellhousing that wasn’t dial indicated to the Block. Your probably going find the bearing surface for the input gear bad on the Main shaft too.
Don’t put it back together till you check it !

Thanks for the info Mike I appreciate it! It gives me an idea of what to look out for, i’ll make sure to check the bell-housing and bearing on the input shaft so I don’t have to pull it out again.

I hope it is of some assistance. Since I only ever had one Kelmark conversion on the road, this was unknown to me.
