Getting my Dakota Digital dash all hooked and have a simple question. Is the temp sender too long to go where the idiot light went?

Are you bragging or complaining? I'm not sure where you intend to install it. The Vair has a snap action oil pressure switch on the top and a snap action thermo switch in the bottom of the head. There is now oil temp sensor.

I just installed a Westach sender that looks to be the same length as yours. It was sourced from Clark's. You should be fine.

Sorry, should have been more specific. Looking to put it where the original snap switch on top went. This is in my 68. I could thread it fine but just wanted to make sure it wouldn’t block something.

I would not try to replace the Oil Pressure Snap Switch with this sensor!

It "might" fit in place of the Over Temp Snap Switch in the passenger side Head.

I put mine in the "extra hole" provided by Clark's in there Cast Aluminum Oil Pan!

You can put the Oil Pressure Sensor in place of the Pressure Snap Switch.

FYI, this "Oil Pressure Snap Switch" is located on TOP of the Oil Filter Adapter, near the Generator/Alternator pulley! Here is a picture of 'how' I installed the Snap Switch and Oil Pressure Sensor.

My favorite spot for the oil temperature sensor is low on the engine case, to the right of the crankshaft pulley. This is a nice, protected location and allow use of the existing port for an oil pressure sender. Use of this location requires drilling the engine case and tapping threads for 1/8" pipe thread.
