REPORTS!! Corvair College 2022
Posted by: thewolfe ()
Date: August 08, 2022 09:38PM

Come one, come all to corvair college 2022!
We had to cancel the last 2 years due to covid and then inclement weather.
The venue this year should be fun, along with the usual comradery,
tech topics, swap meet, and good food. See you there!

Important update!
The venue owner totally screwed us, double booked and for some reason thought we were scheduled for Sunday the 18th, not Saturday the 17th, even though this date has been booked for a year.
We have found another place to hold corvair college, it will be at
Dale Andrig's residence in Vancouver, WA.
The address is 7210 NE 27th Ave. Vancouver, WA 98665
.
It can be a little confusing finding the place so you may contact Dale at 360-241-9615 if you get lost.
The start time will be the same, 9am but we ask that you bring a chair for yourself.
We have some folding tables to set food items on but
if anyone has a folding table they can bring for people to sit at while dining, that would be great.
Sorry for the switch but at least we can still hold the event!

Is this the one where everybody assembles an aircraft quality engine? I've always wondered if one of those would fit in an original Corvair.

No.
I believe the one you are talking about is held by William Wynne.
This one is an annual gathering that has been sponsored by C.O.R.S.A. Oregon for many years, and is a "Don't Miss" event if you are anywhere in the vicinity, and able to attend.
Always, . . . . .

Does anyone who's planning to attend need any parts? I'll be driving from the Seattle area and can bring parts from the 'bloated stash of junk'.

I will be bringing my trailer with parts. You should bring yours also because we can't have to many parts for sale.

Had a pretty good showing at this year's corvair college, despite the hiccups. Tech subjects ranged from generators to shift mechanisms, concourse restoration guide, and a presentation on a very cool early model electric conversion. Food, weather, and company were all great! Here's a few pics I got...

It definately was a great time and it was good to see everyone too. Had a great drive down from Shelton WA with a few of the local guys and one of the cars made it all but about 5 miles short when something catostrophic happened to the engine. More to follow on that.
Anyway, thank you Nate, Corsa Oregon and Dale for all your hard work to make this such a great event.
