Weird Radio Issue

On my 68 I have the Aurora conversion on my AM radio which has been working great for over five years. I recently upgraded the speakers and installed an amp up in the trunk. Everything was working fine for about two months but now I'm getting loud pops, crackles and volume variations even with the engine off. I tried different ground points and it didn't seem to help. The weird thing is that every time I hit the brake or clutch pedals the problem happens. I'm stumped.

Loose connection. Look under the dash while someone else works the brake and clutch. See what moves. Maybe something bolted to the firewall. Or wires going through the firewall near the pedals.

Thank you Frank!! That was it. A speaker wire was getting squeezed between the clutch pedal and e-brake.
