Now, I don't know what kind of oil I should be using to refill it. The shop manual doesn't give a specific weight that I can see. Thanks mark '64 Monza Coupe Options: Reply•Quote•PM•Follow Topic•Report Re: correct steering box oil Posted by: vairmech () Date: May 15, 2022 07:37PM There is a 00grease that is specified but I have always used Amsoil grease and about 10% STP or the equivalent. I think GM still offers the original lube if that is the way you want to go. () Date: August 20, 2022 09:36PM I have been using the STP added about 10% like Ken mentioned for decades. The STP makes the lube much more sticky than 00 grease alone. Corventure Dave Re: Steering Gear Lube Posted by:

() Date: August 21, 2022 11:27AM Yea, too late for me. I'm now logged in on a Linux computer running on a flash drive. I was going by order. Didn't see the warning! All the post that were "new" didn't show that designation after clicking on the link. Cleared all my Cookies etc. but still going to do a virus scan. ![]() ------------------------------------------------------------------------------ ***'61 Lakewood, a "Freebie" in hibernation for 27 years - In the process of applying CPR.*** Edited 1 time(s). () Date: August 21, 2022 12:23PM Sorry guys. This has started since the Forum did the last change. It has something to do with that https:// thing that Marty pointed out. My computer also displays CCF all wonky, unless I turn it off after I have logged in. I guess I will just have to quit trying to be helpful. Just know it is not a virus thing, just that issue that was discussed a few months ago after the CORSA take-over. -+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+- WA. state, 1 mile south of the Canadian border, I am not at the end of the world, but you can see it from here. ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() Re: Steering Gear Lube Posted by:

() Date: August 21, 2022 01:17PM Hope you can sort out your computer. My full virus scan came out clean and re-logging in seems to show as before. Please don't stop giving advice (we all value that). Maybe until sorted just tell people what to search instead of posting a link. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------ ***'61 Lakewood, a "Freebie" in hibernation for 27 years - In the process of applying CPR.*** Re: Steering Gear Lube Posted by:

() Date: August 21, 2022 08:24PM I don't get why it is only your links, Mel. I copy and paste what is in the address bar and everything is fine. Let me try: [corvaircenter.com] Let me try first, I will post if clicking is safe. OK! Works! Of course my copy paste does not make it https, since CCF does not use that secure address.
