CORSA Convention - Atlanta Motor Speedway Drive
Posted by: Sir Thomas ()

My family and I had a great time enjoying the fellowship and driving fun at this year's CORSA Convention in Peachtree City, GA. My thanks goes out to the numerous volunteers who put together this series of events. Well done!!

One of the surprise delights was the active drive many of us were able to take around the Atlanta Motor Speedway loop thanks to making a modest donation to a local charity. My son, Elijah Ratliff, created this video of our drive so everyone can get a taste of the experience. Enjoy!

Nice vid. I was in session 2 with my Rampy they never slowed us down I was wide open all 3 laps speedometer buried at 80 mph not bad for a Bone stock 61 year old 80hp Truck engine, but I must say the corners were nerve wracking in a FC. thumbs up

28 degree banked curves were certainly a new experience for us, particularly during the time when the pace car slowed us to nearly a dead stop to allow new cars plenty of room to come onto the track. It felt like we were just going to roll over, even though we knew we wouldn't. Quite the sensation though. We loved the whole experience.

That was really cool, thanks for sharing!

Looks exhilarating to be able to run your car like that in controlled conditions.

Hi Scott, yes, we were running with our new LeVeque engine, although it wasn't quite happy yet and needed more of Michael's attention the week after the CORSA convention. I hope that was the reason why we got left behind by Ronnie Jenkins' beautiful red Corsa whenever the Pace Car jumped. I believe I am running 3.27 gears with my 4-speed. I drive with 15" aluminum rims.

I was happy to get the spoiler to you without the need for you to incur any shipping costs. I look forward to seeing it on your car when finished.

Johnny B., I'm glad you enjoyed the video. It was definitely exhilarating, something I will gladly do again any time I get the chance at a track.

Thanks again to all the folks who put on such a great 2022 CORSA Convention!
