() Date: July 31, 2022 08:57AM Should I be able to see oil squirting through the rocker arm hole? I cannot.... Are there oiling problems associated with Melling lifters? I also have a persistent clatter on #6 exhaust, even after replacing the lifter. If the guide is worn can that be felt with the spring installed? Thanks for any ideas. () Date: July 31, 2022 09:34AM You should be able to see oil dripping from the pushrod while idling with the valve cover off, but it will not go shooting through the rocker arm hole... it needs more rpm for that. If the guide is worn bad enough, yes you can feel it by pushing on it, but because of the spring pre-load probably not- maybe a little "jiggle". A more reliable indicator of shot valve guides is if theres oil burning out of the exhaust when starting, and wether or not one or more plugs seem to oil foul. ------------------------------------ Kevin Nash Friday Harbor Washington 63 Spyder, Daily driver, EFI read about my project here: [corvaircenter.com] first test start on EFI here:[www.youtube.com] first official EFI boost test here:[www.youtube.com] My new fan! () Date: July 31, 2022 11:38AM Thanks Kevin. I couldn't see it oiling with an adjustment cover installed. With no cover, all rockers are definitely oiling. In fact, the noisy rocker has lots of oil. When adjusting, it gets quiet for a few seconds then the clatter resumes. I imagine a broken spring would continue to be noisy. I don't know which cam this motor has in it but the gear end is hand engraved 260. I suppose it could just be caused by the grind on the cam lobe. None of the other rockers are noisy. It is not that bad but I was hoping to find a solution. Maybe I will just run it.... Brice 66 Corsa Turbo Convertible Bozeman, Montana Re: Rocker Arm Oiling Posted by:
