OT: Retiring from Civil Service and Entering the Private Sector
Posted by: Spectre ()
Date: July 22, 2022 07:14PM

After 21 years working for the DoD, I am retiring to go work at a private sector company. When Biden issued his “vaccine” mandate in the fall last year, I refused and started looking elsewhere. While the courts have prevented him from enforcing the jab, they just went back to masks at work and weekly testing for the unvaxxed. Today, my new employer asked me to start on Friday, August 12 (my birthday). So on Monday I will initiate the retirement process. I’ll get a decent pension check and the new job pays 15% more than what I am leaving. I won’t burn any bridges when I leave, but I will make in clear it clear that COVID policies are why I am leaving. Also, while they are testing the unjabbed at work, the only cases of COVID are from the people who are vaccinated.

Congrats to your job change. Enjoy your new job and eventual retirement.

Some enlightened folks are empowered to bash the non vaccinated thru plain bias and ignorance.

At a KC Royals home game tonight, some of these enlightened "fans" booed a Whit Merifield, KC Royal player and not vaccinated. He and nine others were not allowed to into Canada for a game with Toronto this past week. AAA minor league players played in their place and did quite well. Whit's explained his reasons later and was misquoted/misinterpreted and some of the less enlightened Royal fans at home game booed him publicly tonight. I have never been so disappointed in some of these local enlightened fans who will not allow others the same freedom of speech that they enjoy.

I hope they trade the whole team away and keep Whit.

I have 19 years invested in DoD. I'm too old to do anything else and I don't want to move so I'm sticking it out until I turn 65... vaxed, boosted and disgruntled.sad smiley

Thanks everyone. I hope to work for 10 years at Boeing and then retire for good. I have a good friend proofing my formal letter of resignation/retirement to make sure it is professional and gets the point across. My supervisor said to please make sure I mention why in the letter.

I remember about 57 years ago, I walked into a building and a guy with an inoculation gun, pumped about five vaccines into my arm. I stepped forward and another guy pumped five more in my other arm. We walked into another room and a Dr said, drop ‘em and cough.
It wasn't until the next room in the next building did I hear any of the guys cry like little girls. It took about 5 seconds to put a head of hair onto a pile on the floor.
About two years later, I received a gracious invitation to go on vacation in S. East Asia. This called for several more shots in my arm.

Over the last couple of years, I've seen uniformed clowns crying in front of camera's about having to get a Covid shot. These guys have already received a dozen shots, but thanks to the media pundits and social media, they've allowed themselves to be convinced that this shot is some how going to rob them of their rights or freedom of something or another.

Why didn't they ever ask questions or complain about any other shots the Gov gave them.

A question. Did DoD ever require physicals exams and inoculation records when first employed?

Welcome to retirement David! You'll do Boeing proud, just talk them into putting a boom pod into the KC-46 instead of a camera that doesnt work in the end of the boom!..eye rolling smiley

Does "OT" mean you can go political? - This is a Corvair center. If you want to complain or brag, go to Facebook. OT but non-political, have at it! No religion either.
