This right here got me out of those heat soak situation s several times before I added the electric helper pumps to my mechanical on turbos and AC cars.

Engine dies after driving a short distance (enough to empty carb bowl) after stopping for 10 to 20 minutes. Cranking produces no results. Dump ice onto mechanical fuel pump. Crank, starts, drive away. Absolutely pinpoints heat soak of the pump as the vapor lock cause.
