() Date: June 10, 2022 10:46AM The LM 4-dorrs are very nice looking, IMHO. A bit more formal than the coupe, but beautifully styled. When I was shopping, I was actually looking for one of these as they generally seem to be priced lower than the coupes and convertibles. I suspect that they may end up being much rarer in the long run since all the restoration projects seem to involve coupes and convertibles. Nice looking car, but a rather plain back window compared to my 64 sedan. ;-) Glen in Ohio 1964 Monza Sedan Powerglide 110 hp Low mileage survivor, stock as delivered Records back to 1967 in Pequot Lakes, Minnesota Original dealer Mike Turk's in East Liverpool, Ohio Located in Cleveland, Ohio area ![]() Edited 2 time(s). () Date: June 10, 2022 01:55PM That one was originally built by Frank Regal from the Chicago area. Subsequent owners removed the continental kit he had on it when he had first built it. I once asked him about fitting the 4 door's backlite into a coupe. He said that that was the worst thing to do, because the coupe actually tapers down at the beltline, and is narrower than the 4 door along the beltline. -Mark Re: BaT-Vairy Nice L/M Sport Sedan...not mine Posted by:

() Date: June 10, 2022 02:22PM On the production and survival rates, generally speaking, they produced about 9 coupes to 3 four doors to 2 convertibles (for the '67 model year) and that is about the same for most years. Also you have that "2 door bias" that afflicts the entire old car hobby, to the point that if you studied Hemmings, you'd swear that they built almost nothing but 2 door cars, and little else. I've had many a Corvair guy say that "I part out 4 doors to save coupes." To which I exclaim "OMG, I part out coupes to save 4 doors!!" It's an uphill battle, but somebody's got to do it. Seems I have all sorts of guys asking me if I know where they can get a nice 4 door. Unfortunately, so many people wrongly think that everybody wants nothing but a 2 door, so they use up a nice 4 door as a beater. The result is that the 4 door cars are not only rarer in terms of production numbers, but have a higher attrition rate, making them arguably rarer than convertibles. (Everybody saves convertibles.) Here's a shot of my most recent restoration. ![]() -Mark Attachments: Re: BaT-Vairy Nice L/M Sport Sedan...not mine Posted by:

() Date: June 11, 2022 09:31AM Mark, VERY nice car. Did you see the low mileage LM four door that was for sale in Ohio a month or two back? Listing price started at $17k and dropped to $9k a week later. Lovely red car that was like new, but a little above what I wanted to spend. Seemed like a fantastic deal when similar coups not as nice are being offered at twice that price.
