() Date: May 21, 2022 12:10PM I noticed a difference in size on the oval holes in my cylinder baffles. In fitting each side for side I couldn't see a reason for either hole to justify one side or the other. If it matters this is a '61 Lakewood with the oil fill tube in the lower section of the block. Thanks. Attachments: Re: Cylinder Baffles (slightly different, which side?) Posted by:

() Date: May 21, 2022 12:27PM I will venture a guess that the one with the larger hole should be installed on the side with the Road Draft Tube. 1962 95 F.C. () Date: May 21, 2022 12:34PM Then one with the big hole is a for a road draft tube on the 1960-62 engines. ![]() ![]() 1960 4dr sedan caveman car 1961 Rampside (Chetside) 1962 Rampside (Barnside) 1962 Short Rampside (Shortside) 1962 Monza 700 Wagon 1963 Monza 900 coup (General Nader) ----------------------------------- Rust Free Lancaster Ca Re: Cylinder Baffles (slightly different, which side?) Craig replies: If I'm not mistaken, the small hole, between cylinders 2 and 4, is for the vertical thermostat rod present on 1960 engines. Craig N. () Date: May 21, 2022 12:59PM Old memory. Being that I removed the upper fan shroud and thus the road draft tube umpteen years ago (to deal with rats) can I assume "the side with the road draft tube" is the right side viewed from the rear or said another way the side the 1-3-5 cylinders reside on? BTW, thanks for all the prompt replies. Re: Cylinder Baffles (slightly different, which side?) Posted by:

() Date: May 21, 2022 05:00PM In all actuality unless you do have a road draft tube it doesn't matter what side it goes on. Ken Hand Handy Car Care 248 613 8586 Vairmech@aol.com Sorry, only registered users may post in this forum. |
