Proper removal of Lower A-arm bushings

Hello,

After many months, I am back working on the front suspension of my 64 GB. When I press out the A-arm bushings, the inner sleeve and rubber get pushed by the press but the outer sleeve of the bushing remains stuck in the A arm.

What is the proper way to get the outer sleeve out of the A-arm?

Should be a video on Motoheads page.

One only needs to push the outer metal sleeve out about 3/16 of an inch to release it. This can be done carefully with a hammer. Heat can be applied if necessary.
I just changed these bushings on a friends FC.

Thanks folks.

Dave I just watched this video of yours.

Corvair upper and lower bushing and ball joint replacement

I think the "pac man" shim you made will help.

I will let you know how it goes.
