Ive got a GM 3.89 that has been Cryoed and Rem Polished, drilled for 6 or 9 Bolts, No shim as the pinion bearing spun and took out the shim. Has not been run since the modifications $300 plus shipping

Was there ever such thing as a 9 bolt 3.89 R+P? Seems I read somewhere the YS all used 3.89 and all were LMs.

50 of the 66 Stingers came from the factory with 3.89's. Yes they were 9 bolt and carried a different part number. In the earlier P&A 30's the 'Yenko" 3.89 is listed in it to purchase over the counter. I know Charles Lee here in Houston purchased 2-3 over the counter in the late 70's.

I have a gm 9-bolt 3.89 GM gearset sitting on the shelf Yep, GM made them. Pretty useless with a short 13" tire and a stock Saginaw. (shifting, half way across the intersection) But taller tires and/or 2.54 Low gear, does make a difference. Wheee!
