() Date: March 20, 2022 10:57PM Hope this link works This popped up on Facebook marketplace a couple hours ago. seems like a good deal but what do I know. Consider how "hot" rampsides are this could be a steal?? Depending on rust of course. [www.facebook.com] I'm not looking to buy anything but I'm only 10 minutes away from this rig. () Date: March 21, 2022 12:24AM Do not think it is a steal. Exhaust pipe behind cab gives me pause... Rust? like you say what does the underside look like... Re: 64 Rampside f/s in Ann Arbor, MI Posted by:

() Date: March 21, 2022 07:46PM Nobody's say much so here goes. Looks fairly good. The pricing is aggressive. I can remember when... I'm usually a fan of single exhaust but not quadruple size. I wonder what it sounds like. Would that be a fart pipe or is that just for tuners. Cosmetically it could use everything or just do nothing and run it. Maybe cover up the gold and flat black with white spray cans. How about satin white with a satin black stripe. At least it's not a PG and 64 should have the improved shifter. I wonder how it runs and drives. The wheel covers are fetching. It seems to have a nice stance. Jim Brandberg Isanti, MN CorvairRepair.com ![]() Re: 64 Rampside f/s in Ann Arbor, MI Posted by:

() Date: March 21, 2022 09:19PM I'm off work this weekend, I contacted the owner and he said I could come out Saturday to check it out. Again I'm in no need for another corvair but I always enjoy seeing one and hey its only a few miles from me. I'll check for rust and rot because that is usually a deal breaker. Not saying it makes it more valuable but isn't a 64 a rare bird.?? () Date: March 22, 2022 05:49AM Yes a 64 should have the better shifter that's on the floor like a car and the long rod goes through a hole in the gas tank. The 63 and earlier goes through a hole in the vertical bulkhead under the seat and pivots ahead of the suspension crossmember and the long rod goes under the suspension crossmember. The earlier design isn't all that bad when working properly. It's good to keep it lubricated. It's weird because it sort of goes up and down more than it goes fore and aft. You don't really think about it until you think about it. A 64 should have a 164 CI engine. It's a crying shame that they kept the same crankcase suffix letters as a 63. A 110 HP should have a harmonic balancer and a 95 HP should have a cast pulley with 3 "spokes". It should have a magnesium fan. A lot can happen in 60 years where those parts have been changed or the whole engine. It would be nice to know if it's a 3 speed or 4 speed. A 4 speed has the plate on the left side with the red ring where you fill it. You can talk yourself into a 3 speed being okay and quaint but it's not really true. () Date: March 23, 2022 10:36AM I looked at this truck at least a year or so ago. Let's just say that it was the runt of the litter. If the current seller was able to grab one or more of the other cars in that guy's collection, then he did well. A couple of really nice older street rod-type vehicles were in the garage and this Ramp was relegated to the driveway. I think at that time the asking price for this Corvair was closer to $3500... But we all know that asking prices for FC's has been on the rise lately. Re: 64 Rampside f/s in Ann Arbor, MI Posted by:
