() Date: March 10, 2022 02:23PM Hi Folks, I had a CU dual master brake cylinder kit and the MC went bad. I would like to replace the MC and not have to re-plumb all the lines. Does anyone know what model MC Lon sold in his kit? Thanks. () Date: March 10, 2022 03:08PM For some reason I seem to recall prior discussions mentioning mid 1960's Cadillac or other full size GM vehicles being an application that could be used. Do some research and proceed with caution. Maybe purchasing a rebuild kit as already mentioned would be a good way to go if you have the ability and inclination. 1962 95 F.C. () Date: March 10, 2022 07:58PM I use a right side port MC on EM cars that's from a mid-60s Dodge. I can't remember the part number offhand but I posted it here before. Search "dual master cylinder" and set the time to all dates. I started using that one because way back someone told me that's what Lon used. I hate to disagree with the Cadillac thing but that's my story. Jim Brandberg Isanti, MN CorvairRepair.com ![]() Re: Corvair Underground Dual Master Cylinder REPLACEMENT Posted by:

All kits are not the same due to bore. Dorman has different kits all based on part number of master cylinder. He could get a kit # from dorman.com after he gets MC off and disassembled to find out bore size. Housing number could give him a lead on part number of the unit. Edited 2 time(s). () Date: March 11, 2022 03:36AM Here is the Dorman site for the 65 Cadillac MC. It might help in determing if that is what you have. I know he liked Cadillac products since that is what the disc brake kit he sold wss based on. Re: Corvair Underground Dual Master Cylinder REPLACEMENT Posted by:

() Date: March 11, 2022 05:35PM Not sure if this is what you're hoping to find, this was in my notes as the Cadillac m.c. used on Yenkos, I have no verification. I bought a duplicate from O'Reilly's under their brand BrakeBest, part number 10-1264. It's still in the box, holding my breath, made in China. Scott Danville, In. () Date: March 14, 2022 06:28AM The chart seems odd to me. I've always thought the MC36237 was from a 60s Dodge with drum brakes. I would expect something in the 70s to be disc/drum. As long as I have my book out I use: MC36237 right side for EMs. MC36233 left side for LMs because there's less room to get the turn accomplished. MC36367 is supposed to be a left side Corvette with drum brakes that has bigger reservoirs but I've never used one. I think there all have a 1" bore. My LM picture is here and EM picture is above.
