I think LEDS are great as they dont take much current to operate. The only problem is during the winter with snow and ice. They dont melt the ice or snow off. I performed the suggestion of using relays and direct current from the battery of 14volts up to the front as of what Mr. Helt has described in his book.. Makes our headlights nice and bright.

Recently discussed the Holley LED headlamps.

Waiting so see if anyone has used the quad style.

After reading a lot of online reviews, most LED headlamps don't perform that well due to poor light patterns, especially on LO beam. The better LED headlamps with good light patterns AND reliability are relatively expensive.

The other issue is some LED headlamps look UGLY in a classic car.

As time passes, hopefully better products will be available.

As discussed here before, good power and grounds to basic halogen sealed beams makes a noticeable lighting improvement in an old Corvair.

Crap that's only $800 for a full set. I guess Corvairs are not the target market. LOL

Where did you find the 5 3/4" size matchlessmo? I only saw the 7" size in a quick search of their site.
Which makes sense since they're catering especially to the 60's and 70's truck enthusiast and restorer.
But "plug-n-play" must be taken with a grain of salt, as even in the video the presenter mentioned having to modify the buckets. Which I believe is pretty common with Corvair buckets as well.

The $200 each is not out of line for today's offerings I don't think. It's still out of line for me and I don't think that there is 10x the amount of cost involved over a standard bulb. But hey, what do I know...
I know how much I'm willing to spend!

The first ones we sold were $500 each for the 7" rounds. Then $400ea, now $300 for the same brand (JW Speaker), but they look like they belong on a moon buggy too, instead of a classic American car.
Now you can find them in other brands for under $100 each, which is a step in the right direction hopefully. Meaning hopefully they don't just keep getting worse and worse as they get less expensive.
You generally still get what you pay for...

Still looking forward to a true plug-n-play if it's physically possible to make one and still get a good beam pattern.
